Here are my specs:
Athlon XP 1700+ Thoroughbred B
MSI 745 Ultra
768MB (3x256MB) Crucial PC2700
Ive been running this setup for a couple of years now at 2000+ Speeds, just by increasing the multiplier, but I wanted to go further. I upped the voltage to 1.675, and put the FSB up to 166, giving me a 2600+. Now the thing is that I can boot into windows and run most applications fine, even with low timings. The problem is that when I run Call of Duty I get random memory errors Ierror message appears stating that there has been an error at a certain address and then quits to desktop). Ive tried everything, from putting my memory timings right up and mem voltage to 2.8, and putting the CPU speed back down to 1666Mhz, but just keep the FSB high, but I still get the same problem. I also checked the chipset but it wasnt hot at all, so thats not a problem. The only thing is that If I remove a stick of RAM, leaving 512MB, the error takes longer to appear. Its this that suggests it could be to do with the Motherboard. Is it possible that the mobo cant supply enough power to the DIMMs? Or is it just that the chipset cant handle 166FSB (the PCI/AGP clocks are in spec btw, but the chipset I'snt)?
Please any help would be appreciated. If this doesnt work I;ll either buy a new mobo, a new chip (with multipliers > than 13 unlocked), or attempt to cut the bridges myself.
