I am considering buying the MSI K8T Neo FIS2R Motherboard, but after reading tomshardware guide about RAM not working I'm not sure. I would like 1gb of RAM, but the guide says that using 2x512mb sticks of Corsair RAM will not work. Am i misunderstanding the guide or something? If it is indeed true, what RAM should i buy?

I've just read that guide again, and i noticed that they used Corsair DDR500 instead of DDR400. Is this the reason why they didnt work? Because I will be buying paired DDR400's

You could try getting a board that supports memory stably instead of some flaky board.

does no-one have any past experience with this motherboard?

Well, I WILL have some experience with it by the end of next week... I can definately understand your concerns (since I share them). I finally settled on:

Apacer 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 - OEM
Price: $ 82.00 (www.newegg.com) x2

lol, i was hoping for some experience now, since I'm going to the computer fair on wednesday to buy the new parts....I'll tell you how it goes with the Corsair RAM then :)  unless someone replies before then to tell me that the RAM wont work.

i got the MSI K8T-Neo FSR and 1024mb Corsair Twinx 3200LL (2 modules) and it runs perfect at CL2.3.2.6, Cool&Quiet and Dynamic Overclocking feature working

Can't complain about it
