I have noticed that most micro atx psu's are only 200w. Does micro atx require a lot less power then standard atx? I have a micro atx pc with a 200w psu from dell. I am going to add a gf4 ti 3d card and a dvd drive. Will 200w suffice? The highest power psu ive found for a micro atx mobo is 230w.
Thanks.

well...I'll start by saying dell uses some nice psus because all of their systems run psus with really low watt ratings and somehow their systems stay stable...

Most of the time micro atx pcs just dont have as many cards periphrials etc. that normal ATX pcs have thus they can get away with lower watt psus. That being said you should be ok with a 9600 or geforce 4 card (i hope not the MX) but anything like a 9800 or 5900 will certainly push your psu very hard.

BTW are you positive your pc has an agp slot?

My pc doesnt have an agp slot, so im buying a new micro atx mobo which has one. The card is a gf ti4200 64mb, the only pci cards I have are my soundblaster and a network card. The pc has 1 hdd and will have a cdrw drive and dvd drive and 2 sticks of ddr.
Thanks for the help.
