Hi guys, I'm new here.
I want to ask about LCD monitor that I should buy for my computer, but also for PS3 console.
There are 2 LCD that I want to buy...
1. AOC 2230Fa. This is 22" wide with 20k dcr, 2ms response time, res 1680x1050. It has DVI and HDMI feature.
2. AOC F22. This is 21.5" wide with 30k dcr, 5ms response time, res 1920x1080 (full HD), only has DVI feature.
Which one is ok in your opinion? The first one is great since it has DVI, HDMI, 2ms response time and 22". However, it's in 16:10 ration, not 16:9. It's not supporting Full HD.
The second one, is full HD and has more dcr. but 5ms response time and only 21.5"....this one doesn't have HDMI support. Is it possible to use it for PS3 or Xbox360?
For PS3, that thing loves TVs which means it loves 16:9, look around some more and find a 1080p one with HDMI, shouldnt be too much more.
The 2ms is tiny, you cant notice the difference, THW had a article on that a while back i think, and it was no noticeable difference...
Hi, thanks for replying.
btw, is there a cable to connect DVI to HDMI? or any tools that makes me play PS3 on LCD that doesn't support HDMI? There's actually a better LCD with 23", Full HD and HDMI support, but the price is 100 dollars more
and I don't think I'll buy one
watch also that you have hdcp compatability if you want to play any ps3 games @ 1080p usually this is only thru the dvi on monitors, but you can prob find otherwise in a tv. if you choose to go with dvi for that reason you can get sound thru the optical audio if you have a stereo with it to... if you dont have hdcp ALL games will only be in 720p but most are anyway;)
I used to use a DVI-HDMI lead and use my PS3 on a Samsung 245b 1920x1200.
The PS3 can be configured to send audio to any of it's outputs independantly of the video signal, so I had the audio setup to go out through the normal RCA's (you can tell it to use optical too) and out to my trusty ancient NAD amp
