Is it the mainboard?

Since a system freeze my computer shows the following behavior: When I turn it on, the fans start rotating, but nothing shows on screen. The RAM LED on the mainboard is on though...

What I already tried:
- exchange the graphics card: the same behavior (tried two others).
- exchange RAM: same result.
- plug off most of the components (HDs, ...): same result.

What confuses me is that no (beep) error message is heard. So, my conclusion is that the mainboard is damaged, what do you think?

CPU: Pentium 3.06
Enermax 350W
Mainboard: Gigabyte 8INXP (onboard sound and LAN)
512MB DDR

Hmm, I've used the system for nearly a year now. Furthermore I moved nearly all cables and other moveable stuff around while searching for the source of the problem...

I suspect a motherboard problem. Check for shorts to the casing. If it still doesn't help, you may need to replace the motherboard. I know how that feels - sickening :(

If it was the CPU, the board would report an error, right?
If so, the only thing I can think of is the mainboard... I'll test with another power supply and if that doesn't change anything it seems there is no other option than a new MB...
