svchost.exe application error???

I always get the "svchost.exe application error", after I clicking the login user icon; the detail is "the instruction at "0x77e61d24" refereuced memory at "0x00000007", the memory could not be read". you can choose the terminate or debug.
but after I choosed either one, I get flashing icons and tool bar; so I try to boot into safe mode, but the window keeps poping up after you choose yes or no to restore the windows(winxp pro sp2).
