Hi there, and thanks for the replies to my last post.

System:

1. XP3200+
2. 2x512mb PC3200 Corsair memory
3. 9700 Pro graphics card
4. ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard (rev 1.04 - was only 333 FSB)
5. 360W PSU

Having just upgraded to the XP3200+, I updated the bios to support FSB400. After also updating the nforce drivers, this seemed to work fine.

Problem is system seems stable until I do something intensive (eg run 3dmark03 or start Ut2003) - then the system just freezes.

I'm running all the bios settings at optimal for stability.

Replies to my previous post:

1. Try running voltage at 2.7v - did not help.
2. Run memtest at different settings. Memtest ran ok for 10 cycles with system on proper settings. Only reports error (and system freezes) again when start up any intensive program.
3. Replace motherboard with new a7n8x - apparently the nforce chip was changed from earlier versions and actually doesn't support memory and cpu at 200fsb).

I've been able to run the system at 166fsb, and multiplier 12.5 so think it is maybe the ram (or mb at fault).

Any other suggestions?

PLEASE?!

<Well, at least I didn't go down PC world!>

Try to give a little bit more voltage to the CPU or try a better power supply, I mean, a good branded one. RAM at 2.7 V might help too

I just bought my board a few days ago, if you just bought your board, should'nt the bios allready be updated? Mine is running like champ, why dont you take your board back and get another one while you can.

If you are still running the V1 of the mobo, it is quite possible that you cannot go at 200. But I would try to bump the Vdd (chipset power) a bit too. If that works, maybe you should consider active cooling on the northbridge if you have not already.
Oh, And what I would do to to check what is in problem, is to remove one stick of memory, and testing them one at the time, to see if your system is stable. Maybe the memory cannot run dual. If it run goos in single, try with both stick, without enabling dual channel. The manual should tell you how to put the memory in order to get or not the dual channel activated.

Rev 1 mobos have issues breaking the 200 barrier. Average has been 180. Its due to the lack of voltage to the northbridge. The Uber bios could help you out there but still you would most likely have to voltmod the thing.

Barton 2500+ @ 2200mhz (10x220 vcore @ 1.8)
Asus A7N8X Dlx 440 FSB

You also need to check other things, such as heat. During benchmark tests like that, your processor gets hotter than just idling on a desktop. Make sure your system isn't overheating causing instability. I'd also look towards the power supply and try possibly changing it out. I run an Antec True430 in mine, and it works absolutely perfect. If that doesn't help, try running only one stick of memory and see if that fixes it, then the other stick, etc.. Hope this helps some ;)
