My System:

Gigabyte ga m51gm s2g motherboard
AMD am2 5200 dc
8800 gt 320 mb
500 gb hard drive
3gb 667mhz ram in single channel
22 inch display

Now, I upgraded the ram to 4gb dual channel pc 6400 and got a ATI 5770 and that gave me 35-40 fps on low at 1650x1050 resolution on low settings. The only thing i could think of was that it is more cpu/motherboard related than gpu if you only need low settings.

I want to run this game at :

1680x1050 on low settings and get 50+ frames...what can i do??

Budget is crucial...as I dont want to spend more that $300......I could get a amd QC and motherboard for $119 and 4gb ram for $110...then do you guys think I would get the performance I want?

Hey welcome to the forums. It sounds like it is a combo of your CPU and GPU with your larger resolution. 8800GT is pretty old. BC2 minimum requirements for the GPU is a 7800 and they probably determine that at the lowest possible resolution to reach down in the lower GPUs.

I wouldn't worry about your RAM because it is not going to give you the performance bump you are looking for. I would think about a CPU and a newer VGA because that is what will get you the FPS you want.

I feel like a dbag for doing this but we could help each other out here if you are in the US....I am getting ready to put my 4870 (512MB) up on ebay. I sold my last one for $80 or something like that so if you are interested I could hook you up. Just private message me if so and I can give you more details.

He has 4GB if you read what he just said. and since you got the 5770 already, you should get a mobo/cpu combo. Newegg has great combo deals.

I have the 3 GB of ram now running at 667mhz in single channel mode. Sad thing is, if I upgrade the cpu/mb it looks like this:

At Frys right now:

Amd 2 x4 635 with Biostar A770e3= $119.00
Ram 4gb dual channel ddr3 $109.00
ATI 5770= $179.00
Win 7=$109.00

See what I mean? Now I could do everything but Video card for right now and see if that does it...then buy a vid card in a month or so when the 5870 is down to $250 or so....so, I would use my 8800 gts for now on low settings and at 1680x1050 and hopefully get 50= fps...what do you think?

The upgrade would be about $367.00 without video card.....that would work for me...the motherborad would support a phenom x4 for future and I also would have more ram and windows seven...if my video card doesnt work then I would get a new one next month.

What do you guys think?
