Hello, sorry for the basic question--I'm not a pro at network stuff
and will greatly appreciate any help.

I have two macs and a PC connected via ethernet to a Netgear MR814
wireless router (DSL). Those machines work great.

I have another machine, a Window 98 PC, I've always used that as a
backup computer with 56k dialup. Now I have just installed a Netgear
MA111 wireless USB adaptor to it, driver installed great and the MA111
gives me a steady light indicating it is talking to the wireless
router. PC utility shows all connected.

Now the problem, when I open up a browser my PC wants to dial for
connectivity. How do I tell my PC that it needs to surf the internet
using the MA111 not dialup? I want to get rid of that dialup box.

Thanks for any help!

Fritz

Open the browser.

Go to menu bar: tools - internet options - connections tab - select "never
dial a connection"

Then select the LAN Settings tab and select "automatically detect settings".
