I have recently put together a new system
core 17 950
evga x58 3- way sli
2x gtx280 oc
water cooled

and went to play call of duty (through steam) but with un-playable frame rates.
according to the canole I am avarageing 10 fps with drops to 3fps!
settings are:
1680x1050
all high
0x AA
0x AF
no sli (tryed disableing in through nvidia control with marginal improvments.

I have a good sytem in my opinion, so whats the problem?
Also note i have tryed Mirrors Edge and NFS shift with similar results
Thanks,
Austin

Are ALL of your drivers up to date? and also check temps during gameplay

Sounds to me like a driver bug of some kind; that system should be able to run anything. Uninstall your Nvidia drivers and try installing them again.

One more thing: What PSU did you put in? Make sure you have enough juice to power all those goodies.
