Mobo makers treating you like loosers

OK, so we have the A64, a pretty darned nice chip. And we have a few choices for chipsets, from VIA, nVidia, ALi, and SiS.

We know about the defects in the VIA and nForce3 150 chipsets. We also know nVidia released the patched up nForce3 250 version. And Soyo carries an ALi chipset board that's supposed to be the best on the market, according to OC Workbench. Also, Anandtech claims the SiS 755 chipset is the best A64 chipset on the market.

High end SiS 755 chipset boards were supposed to be released over a month ago. nForce3 250 chipset boards were supposed to be released over a weak ago. What's the holdup?

YOU. As long as you keep buying the crap boardmakers already produce, they have no reason to ramp up production of better boards. They know you'll buy whatever crap they throw at you.

All these memory issues you see with current VIA and nForce3 150 boards...according to Anandtech these problems don't exist on the 755, according to OCWorkbench the latest ALi chipset is nearly problem free.

I've been telling people to wait a couple weeks, then a couple more, then a couple more, before buying their board, to insure they get a better chipset. But obviously there are enough people who don't CARE about quality, buying the latest VIA chipset boards, that boardmakers feel no pressure to produce anything better.

In other words, Asus, Abit, MSI, etc, are all taking you for suckers. If they weren't selling so MANY of their current boards, they would be FORCED to make better boards. But that's not happening, all because of YOU.

It's more like a catch 22, if everyone buys the motherboards then it will work more or less like you say. But if no one buys the motherboards then the companys will see the market as profit-less and wont continue to develop there.
