I have a Gateway E-3200 with the following BIOS on it:
4J4NB0X1.15A.0019.P11
(by Phoenix Technologies)
Gateway.com has the following BIOS version for downloading (to upgrade the BIOS on my computer mentioned above):
4J4NB0X1.15A.0021.P13
It might be nice to have a copy of the Bios that is on my computer right now ("0019.P11" ) -- just in case I have to "flash back" for any reason.
[I can't create a "bootable" Bios flash disk from my computer, can I?]
(I called Gateway, and they evidently don't have those files for me, and I couldn't find them at gateway.com. Phoenix - phoenix.com, and Jabil - jabil.com don't seem to be able to help me either.)
Does anyone have the files for such a flash that you would be so very kind as to e-mail me?
Or maybe someone knows of a website which archives older Bios versions?
Also, has anyone upgraded their Bios from "0019.P11" to "0021.P13", and if so -- how did it go?
Incidentally, do you know anything about a ".P12" Bios version, too?
There has to be a flash program you can use from a bootable floppy, those programs all allow you to save your old BIOS first.
If it's a BX chipset board from Intel, I wouldn't flash it, as Intel has released BIOS that prevents those boards from supporting Coppermine CPU's.
