Among the distros I've tried, the only one with a working Kismet
is Knoppix STD. It's a live CD so you can download and try it.

I downloaded Auditor and burned it to CD.

Auditor has a nice look to it, but in an HP 5420 it did not work with
an external wheel mouse on USB, a Linksys Ethernet card, or a Orinoco
Classic Gol 802.11b card. Needless to say, Kismet is a no-go. Knoppix
STD did not exhibit these problems.
