I use my PC mostly for gaming. I was wondering if it would be worth the cost to upgrade my Mobo/CPU/and Ram from what I currently have. Would I see a signifigant improvement? Or would I be better off waiting?

Here's my specs

Athlon XP 2500+
Epox 8RGA+ mobo
512mb (2x256)
WD 80gb 7200
9800pro ATI
Logitech Z-640 speakers

I've got about 500-700 for upgrade. If I wont see any SIGNIFIGANT improvements please say so as I would rather hold on to my cash and wait if I dont see any diffrences in gaming performance.

Thanks for the help

With the newtechnologies coming out in the coming months ie. new sockets for AMD and Intel, PCI-X I think you would be much better off waiting. You aren't going to see a significant performance increase right now.

Your system rocks man, the graphics card has the biggest impact on game not the CPU RAM and MB anyway. Your graphics card is great and wont need to be upgraded for a while.

Get a good HSF and overclock that 2500+ !!!! Best thing to do for now! Maybe you'll need better RAM. If you buy fast enough RAM, it could be reused in your next upgrade.

-Always put the blame on you first, then on the hardware !!!
