help this brother upgrade

I just got my two 512MB DDR400 ram and a brand new Athlon xp 3200 with 400fsb.

So I put this stuff in my system (Asus a7N8X deluxe) and now I cant seem to get it to work as advertised. My ram runs at 200mhz and I dont know if the processor is full power (1.84 ghz after bumping somthing in the bios to 166mhz)

I checked the asus web site and I think im supposed to get a bios update, though i dont know how to check my version.

So anyone know how to make my system as good as it will get?

Your cpu should be a 200 too. 200MHz is 400 DDR. your cpu should be at 11x 200, which will give you 2.2GHz, so the 3200+. As you are right now (11x166=1.86) it is like you are running a 2500+

Change the fsb setting in bios to 200. If it is not available, the just download the last bios at Asus and flash it. But I doubt that you cannot do that right now.

I blame myself. I dug some more on asus website and figured out how to get my bios updated. So I did. Now it shows up as 3200. And thanks for the tip about the ram, i guess its working good. thanks for your help!
