Games, windows 7, and ram

not sure if this is the right section or if i'll sound like an idiot =P. but i have windows 7 and 1 gig of ram XP. i was wondering what happens if you play a game that says it requires 1 gig of ram or 2 gigs for vista. i've already played a game that said the same one gig or two for vista. but i want to make sure it wont mess anything up too much if at all.

You will just run out of RAM. What usually happens is that you get a erratic performance like low FPS, lags, stutters.... You won't break anything but the game will not run as smooth as it should.

thanks a lot =D. i haven't really run into that much stutter so long as i keep everything low as it'll go
