I am having trouble keeping my system stable when adjusting memory timings to go any lower than 3-4-4-9. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to get a memory performance increase out of my present system? I know I should be running faster than Crucial 2700 but that's all I have to work with for now. Regardless, I still feel that my timings could be adjusted to run faster with the right tweaking. I would be greatful for any advice to help a bro out. Currently running in dual channel at 193.3mhz on an ABIT NF7-S v2.0

Here's the spks:

Abit NF7-S v2.0 nVidia N-Force2 Chipset
Barton 2500, oc to 2126mhz, 193x11, 387fsb.
Crucial 2x512 Dual Ch 2700 at 3-4-4-9
FSB:DRAM=1:1
DDRV=2.74
Vcore=1.7
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO

What type of crucial modules are you using? Are they rated at Cas3 or 2.5? Because if they are rated at cas3 and you are overclocking then you shouldnt be suprised that you can't get better timmings out of them.

P4c 2.6@3.25
512Mb PC4000
2x120Gb 7200.7 in RAID0
Waterchill KT12-L30
Abit AI7
Radeon 9800Pro

I think he's also overclocking his DDR333 from 166.7MHz clock to 193MHz clock as well, so he might not be able to do anything more with his RAM.

Your right. I currently have the FSB:DRAM set to 1:1 running RAM and CPU at 193mhz. I was told that was best for nf7-s mb's. Is this wrong?

No, that's the best setting, but since the PC2700 is overclocked already it's less likely to accept even lower timings.

Well, you were on the $$$ Crashman. I played w/ the CPU:DRAM bus ratio a bit and found that I could then make a few adjustments to speed up the memory timings. I can't see any difference in speed and benchmarks are about the same. Guess I'm kinda stuck with those high memory timings until I get my hands on some faster DDR.

Have any suggestions??????

Many thx Crashman & all.

Suggestions? Leave it at the slower timings and 1:1 ratio until you get some faster RAM :smile:
