I know that this is a newbie question.
But, do you think how much thermal paste should i place between the heatsink and the cpu.
I haven't tried it before so I'm curious and also cautious.

THis applies to AMD Athlon XP or 64 processors, because I Will build those systems later this year.

all the cpu coolers i've bought come with thermal paste and instructions on how much to apply. lately i've used arctic silver instead of the supplied paste, and they have a guide on their website. if you are using arctic silver on an athlon 64, they recommend "About the size of one and a half uncooked grains of short-grain white rice or 3/4 of a BB". its a good thing they provide pictures with the guide.
