Here is my problem in a nutshell. I have a Western Digital 80GB SATA HD. During Windows XP Pro installation, it is not being detected. I have it set to "IDE" in the bios, but I still get nothing. I have tried literally everything. If you have any information on this problem, anything is appreciated. Thanks!

do you press f6 at startup to install SATA drivers? DID YOU READ YOUR MANUAL?

Setting it to 'IDE' in the bios isn't going to help if the drive is SATA. Do what the guy above me says.

Just pull the SATA drivers off the mobo CD, put them on a floppy, when XP setup says to press f6 to install third party raid drivers, press f6 and insert the disk then follow the directions.

My system specs: Athlon XP 2500+ barton, 512MB PC2700 RAM, MSI motherboard, WD 80GB special edition, ASUS radeon 9600XT
