Will i be able to max empire total war on my new system?

iam buying a new system and i was just wondering if it would be able to run empire total war with all the graphics setting maxed on medium resolution? The specs of this system are...

CPU- intel core i7 930 @2.8ghz
GPU- xfx radeon HD5770 1gb
RAM- 6gb (3, 2gb sticks) of corsair xms ddr3 @1600mhz
HDD- intel x25-m 80gb ssd with Read- 250mbps Write- 70mbps
PSU- corsair HX1000watt ATX
MOBO- gigabyte X58A UD7
CASE- coolermaster haf 932
OS- windows 7 ultimate
CPU COOLER- zalman CNPS10x aftermarket cooler

I want to be able to max empire total war with good fps even in large battles with lots of troops with the unit scale on max if possible

Can i max it??? Please, if you can help, don't hesitate

most likely yes. Empire ran fine on my c2d E6750/8800GT. Ideally if you can run Medieval total war 2, empire should run better, because M2 was designed for a single core, so the lower clocked duals/quads dont really help at all. Empire was designed to run on Quads and it shows, really really smooth on my i7.

I currently have an i7920 @3.2ghz and an ati 5850 and it doesnt even break a sweat on empire.


If I were you i would save 100 sumthin bucks and get a corsair 750TX

without increasing your total cost.

That PSU is just way overkill. 750TX powers my 5850/i7920@3.2 no problem.

I won the psu on ebay for alot less than a 750 watt and i do plan on going crossfire in the future. Thanks for the replys, greatly appreciated.

iam just so confused everyone, i seriously dont know weather i can max empire total war or nepolian total war??? ive spent all day trying to find out hours googling my graphics card and the new total war games and i have turned up nothing, only that my processor is no good for empire/nepolian total war, Its a core i7 wtf??? this dude says his gtx 295 can only run it at medium setting WTF???

Other forums have said that a my system can easily max these games all the way??? with no lag no matter what??? can you see why iam so confused, can someone here give me an exact answer wether i can max this game on med res with no lag what so ever or wether it will be an epic fail???? please answer if you can

Not sure about ETW, but NTW must be i7-friendly (i7 logos is all over the disc box and loading screens of the game).
Btw, why don't you istall demos of both games (available via Steam)?

Dude I have an i7 920 and an ATI 5850. it doesnt even break a sweat on Empire, I have the game!

My core2duo e6750 8800GT played it fine on mixed med/high settings.

What is med res? I have a 1680x1050 native res monitor if that gives you an idea.
