I need some good recommendations ;) For a P4 Prescott thus concidering -> support, Performance, Chipset (need ICHR5), cooling, additional SATA would be nice, Gb nic, On board sound, Low OC.
Ok I have read Alot and it seems many like the Abit Max3 ($182.00)
However it's at the high end price wise so you have to ask if it is really the best for the dollar then?

As I read it seems like that the best boards for the $ that have the things I am looking for might be some of the 865PE sets Or Some of the 875p boards that have fallen in price like:
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe $121.00 - (thinking this board? Has the features)
MSI 865PE Neo 2-FIS2R (-> but I can't find 1 at the normal resellers)
Abit IC7-G II Adv 875p $139.00 - (higher Price?)
EPoX EP-4PDA2+(Rev 2.0) $109.00 - (Lots of stuff THG mention south bridge prob?)
EPoX EP-4PDA5+ $105.00 - (RAID 5 SATA)
ABIT AI7 $111.00 - (No add. SATA)

Crashman

Polypheme
Former Staff
Abit IS7 $94.

p4p800is 865, not 875, that's the p4c800

Also, the p4p800e has 8 bit digital sound and a promise raid controller that does pata and sata, but only has a single pata port, so if you want to do raid with two pata drives, have to get a sata-pata adapter(or can get the "older" p4p800 deluxe instead, same chipset, different via raid forpata raid, regular ich5r for sata raid)

Thanks for the info on the Asus Board that is good to know.
I like the Abit boards however the problem with both the IS7 & AI7 is the lack of additional features But I will have to think about that some more.

Any experaince with the EPoX 865pe boards?
