I may need to replace the monitor on my HP Pavilion n5270 laptop. It went
black when it went into hybernate mode and it won't come back, even after
"rebooting to a previous good boot," or whatever that option is after
pressing F8 on bootup. An attached external monitor works fine. My
question is how do I replace this for less than $600, and sooner than an 8
week turnaround, which is what Fry's Electronics is telling me? My extended
warranty expired a few months ago. I know I can get a new laptop for
another $500-$600, but I'd prefer to replace the screen and keep this one.
