Same Chipset & diferents cpu supported?

What are the types of processors this board can support?


With the latest BIOS, PCBs 1.0 to 5.0 can support 200MHz FSB, Thunderbird(0.18u)/ Morgan (0.18u) Athlon/Duron CPUs and PCBs 5.1 or above can support 200/266MHz FSB, Palamino (0.18u)/Morgan (0.18u) Athlon XP/Duron CPUs.

This is for the GA-7ZX
VIA KT133 chipset

Newer/more capable clock generator would be my guess. Err, think that's part I'm thinking of. Alcohol makes ya fuzzy. Anyways, to put it simply, it may be same chipset, but ti's not same board, there's more to a board than just a chipset. So it supports different cpus becuase it's not the same.

Ops, yes, alcohol is present.
I want say... Xp... my mother board is kinetiz 7T with the same KT133, & my mobo don´t support the AthlonXP

There was a big issue with the KT133 chipsets. They were originally supposed to support both 100x2 and 133x2. I think only the KT133A supported a 133x2 FSB. Crashman would know best.

KT133 was supposed to support 100/133MHz bus clocks (200/266 CPU bus based on DDR numbers), but failed miserably and was derated to 100 only, just before release. KT133A was a fixed version of the KT133, which actually DID support both bus speeds. PCB 5.1 probably used the KT133A.
