How to get canon printer online

How do i get my printer back online..when i try to print a message says printer offline..

Assuming this is a usb printer.

1. Disconnect printer.
2. Delete any reference to your printer.
3. Uninstall drivers.
4. Run something like CCleaner to ensure no orphan files and registry entries.
5. Start driver install and when asked reconnect printer.

"I had the same problem. None of the answers helped me, on any site. In desperation I clicked print, double clicked on the printer. And what to my amazement appeared but 'ONLINE.' I clicked on it and I was back in business.
