Thank you for taking time to read my extensive post. I've been experiencing ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception

for over a year or so, perhaps back since 2007. I didn't start getting smart with noting the exact errors and make progress until recently, or so I had thought. In 2007 I started having a lot of problems so I replaced my soundcard and updated my graphics card from an nvidia 6200 to 7800. I had no problems with wow after that until last year.

Then it was having problems reading the files like mpq. I have reformated windows 4 times, replaced 3 hard drives, 3 psu's in total (this one is strong enough now)reupdated/dwnloaded display/graphics, direct x, mobo drivers many a times, including today.
Last week I had ram replaced, found old to be faulty. The new ram is GSKILL DDR 400 pc 320, 1gb x 2, cl3-4-4-8 2.5V memory sticks.

I have a M7NCG 400 Biostar MOBO from...2004? Athlon xp amd processor, nvidia chipset, seems like nvidia everything in mb here so we're running into a wall as far as how to troubleshoot what could still be wrong.
Anyway, since I can't upload txts to the post, I'll just post a few logs here, starting with the newest dxdiag log I have:

I should note that I did have the creative soundblaster sb live! 5.1 before switching to my onboard on the 5th, with no 132 errors until today. I started re-enabling sound Friday. And was able to play with addons again. These are addons that are up to date. I keep switching between addons and no, and for now since the crash returned I've went back to no addons. And now, off to try playing again since I just deleted the cache folder with that different error pointing to do that.

My biggest problem here is likely the motherboard. I have the most up to date driver for it from the website, but its still old. It seems to have nvidia nforce everything.
So if there is a problem with something there, I can't tell which part. I tried to do a search to see if my mobo is incompatible with this memory, that was unsuccessful.

The last windows reformat, and wow reinstall was sometime between 3/31 and 4/5.

between the 132 error messages I received two stop messages so far today.

Earlier before I went and redid the display driver which I might have already mentioned in my mess above, I got nv4_disp.dll page_fault_in_nonpaged_area stop: 0x00000050, which I found in wow tech forums suggested I delete the cache folder I believe so I did that.. And I also again, updated every driver I could find, and reinstalled drivers that were already up to date.

Now, I just got

Ok I don't expect you all to know all the wow stuff that's in here, but its logs for anyone who's good at reading logs. Also between different log sections I have notes with info, there's about 3 wow crash logs, and one dxdiag log. Then I wanted to point out my stop errors for those of you good at finding what stop errors might be pointing to. My guess is either my mobo has always been crap, the processor can't handle wow, or the combo doesn't work anymore, or this video card is bad, or a mix of these. In case I didn't say, my card is PNY nvidia 7600 gs, agp. I've had a 6200 before, had crap with that.

It also might help to point out that in the game I would have a lot of white glitches on the screen where there was sunlight rays supposed to be shining down, and intermittently the text in the game would have bl;ocks/lines trough it making quest details illegible, or names illegible. I tried searching for that on and off through the years, didn't locate any info I found helpful. Again, sorry all this stuff is so long and detailed, its just that I've waited so long to enlist any people with hardware knowledge's help. I've silently been replacing pc parts to troubleshoot and am out of ideas.

Last night I had my boyfriend go into my motherboard bios, and check the timings and voltage against this case's details. He also used CPU-z which would say what the card was supposed to be vs the case details. Apparently the sticks said 2.6-2.75 voltage while case says 2.5, but the timing I think was identical. We confirmed voltage needs to be 2.5, and he lowered the timings so that the mobo and the cards and what not are ok together. This didn't help in game. I just crashed a couple hours ago and have been back to see if anyone responded here, or in the wow forums....http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=2... /sigh.....hardware really isn't my specialty.

Run a memory test; 99% of stuff like this is caused by bad/incompatable RAM. Especially since page fault stops are being generated...

Also, am I the only one worried when I see those RAM voltages? I thought DDR2 never went above 2.1 (OC'd, no less!). Am I the only person who thinks 2.5V RAM is wrong?

Hello, thanks for reply. I am not at home to double check that voltage number, but when I posted it in the OP, I was looking right at the box. And, I forgot to update here, saying I ran a memtest all night the night I posted, and it came back error free, I don't remember how many passes it went through but it ran for at least 8 hours.
I'm wondering if its just my motherboard that's crappy..It was made in 2004.

I had my boyfriend update my motherboard drivers when going to the biostart website this was last week mind you...but when I run driver detective it says all my onboard system drivers are out of date...We got them from biostar website so where are more up to date drivers, and how would I locate them. Its also possible that driver detective doesn't know what its talking about?
Is there a way I can show you what I have and you can tell me if its out of date? OR is it already listed in the dxdiag log mess above?
At any rate, the wow board blues have posted for me to make sure the mobo is up to date, the nforce 4 set anyway, and to determine which one it is...not sure....and to run something to check temperatures of the cpu before and during game.
I will have to work on that, but I need help with the nforce 4 info.

I found the nforce 4 drivers in archive on nvidia site...version 6.86, I already had them installed, so this is as up to date as I guess these drivers get for my set, unless some third party has an update, I don't know much about that?
Any other ideas? After I reinstalled the latest drivers, they are from 2006, I still had the same crash errors. Numbers referenced are always different, just same memory cant' be read. no stop errors since I rolled back to the nvidia 7600 GS drivers 195, the current version is 197.

this morning the bf installed prime95 for stress testing, and told me that (in reference to gskill post above) he used cpuid application to identify what voltage the sticks needed to be in bios, since the sticks say 2.6-2.75, and the package says 2.5. CPUID said 2.5 so that's what he set the things to match to.
Today he said he made changes after running prime 95, said it crashed a lot.
HE went into the bios and underclocked my bus and raised the ram voltage up and then had to leave for work.
I won't know how this goes or did, until I get back home tonight which is after 7p EST.
The screenshot of wow crashing contains another 132 error, I decided against uploading the log here since I already have several.

We changed the bus value last night after watching the temperature monitor, from where its supposed to be and underclocked it, along with changing the ram voltage and some other value in the BIOS. I'm not at home to give specifics.
After playing with it and running prime95 after each change was in effect, we found the prime95 wouldn't crash when it was set to two specific value sets, so we saved it to the higher value set that keeps my processor running faster than the first set.
At any rate since it didn't crash with these new settings, and was crashing before we made these changes, and I was running wow last night with prime95 running at the first lower value set without a crash, we might have fixed it.
I might have time to confirm the values, and if its resolved, tonight. If not, maybe Saturday.
I will post the values either way so that maybe anyone else with a crappy outdated hardware setup like mine, can play wow again without these horrid 132 crashes.

Also I think maybe (you tell me looking at the screenshots) my motherboard and processor were running too hot? So I took off the side of the case, my pc is next to an air conditioner, and the BF is out to replace the cooling fans in the case today, one of them was not working about a month ago and we hadn't replaced it. I hope this all hasn't been due to cooling issues. I really think so far its been a mix of things.

I had a bad memory stick for starters, so I replaced both I had 1G, technically 500MB initially after that, with 2G and new memory that passes memtest.
I had a bad psu 6 months ago or so and had to buy a new hard drive, reformat, reinstall wow a few times before and after.
I had a creative soundblaster live! 5.1 card. I started to wonder if this was causing the 132, so I disabled sound in wow. NO crashes for a week.
Took out sound card, went to realtek 97, udpated those drivers.
Crashing returns.
Then I had outdated graphic drivers. I installed 196, then 197 from 195 from nvidia, for the 7600 GS. I started getting stop errors.
I rolled back to 195 graphic driver, no more stop errors
Still crashing with 132 errors at that point, started underclocking and playing with bios voltage, etc values.
Checked temperatures, removed lid for cooler temps.

so far no crashes.
I think all the stuff we did above fixed it.
However, my motherboard is running underclocked to pull it off. We haven't sped it up to one of the higher speeds that passed prime95 tests since I've been taking my time with testing the game an slowly putting all the settings back to how I had them.

These screenshots here might show you what he changed.
I know he had to do something to the bus, and the memory timings.

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g10/SexyKRock81/finis...
memory timings
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g10/SexyKRock81/finis...
When he saw my temperatures on my board he went out and replaced the fan that went out, and applied some cooling gel of sorts to my heatsink or something...Since then, we put the case back on, and its much cooler than before, running around 30-50C min-max whereas before it was 50-79C I think this too has made a difference.

In time, I'll be able to say for sure which fixed it I hope, but for those of you reading, if you got an older motherboard like I do, say you got your parts back in like 04, you probably need to have someone do this for you. Make sure to start with the basics. Testing memory, and use cpuid hardware monitor, and cpu-z cpuid for help calculating what is where.
Use Prime95 to run tests on your hardware. If it crashes, something is wrong and it needs adjusted. If it doesnt crash then you've found good settings or that's how it worked for me.

Ok, I've been having this issue for a few weeks (error #132). On two computers starting about the same time. The motherboards are different (asus and amd), new and old respectively. the asus computer runs windows 7 and the amd windows xp. both are NOT overclocked. the only thing these two have in common is: same network/home group, memory stick brands (G-skills), and the sound driver which is the same as sexykrock81's (as97.... something or other). The only correlation that I seem to be seeing in all these forums is that everyone is using this sound driver! I'm going to try uninstalling it. (Actually, refrain from installing it since my windows xp computer is getting a total wipe).
I'll let you know how it turns out and thank you sexykrock81 for all your hard work! you've eliminated almost everything else.

Ok, I think I've got this figured out. Just from my experience and reading forum after forum this is what i've pieced together about the wow error #132
Every single forum entry I read with people complaining about this error is using Realtek AC97 Audio for their sound needs. This is causing the cpu core temp to increase causing memory dumps and reading errors. Although not in 100% of the posts I read, their does seem to be a correlation between using Realtek AC97 Audio with an AMD athlon 64 processor. From what I understand, the processor has to work hard converting sound files into other files or something. Extra work=extra heat. extra heat on top of an online game (especially if running overclocked for maximum performance) is too much for the cpu.
I'm not computer savvy and this is just my conclusion/opinion. I'm going to uninstall my Realtek AC97 Audio driver to test it out.
