Hello,

I've got a P4C800 Deluxe mainboard with onboard 3com GBit
network card. For the last two weeks however I'm having
problems with it.

Window's doesn't detect this device anymore (it did
previously) - and I've double checked that it's
enabled in the bios.

I've got a second network card (pci) in the computer
and when I turn it on, the little led in my switch
turns on.
Same cable to the 3com card doesn't turn on the
led in the switch. Also in the back of the computer
no led lights up on the onboard network card.

Could someone with the same mainboard confirm if it will
light up when turning on the computer?

there are some bios updates, but nothing mentioned
about 3com-nic fixes.

Any suggestions on what I can still try?

Regards
Roger

Maybe it somehow got turned off in BIOS?

Like I said, I've checked the bios and it
onboard networking is "enabled"...

Update:

Yesterday I reinstalled windows, and it didn't detect
the onboard device either. So today I was installing
some service packs (win2k).
I selected the ie6 update and after rebooting suddenly
"new device detected" plopped up and it recognized
the Gbit onboard lan - now it's working again!

Well, we'll see if it keeps working in the next few days,
I'll keep you posted in case someone else has the same
problem.
