Hello guys, I'm planning to upgrade my computer to a new dual AMD Opteron 248. I usually do a lot of multimedia related stuff and 3D. After reading several reviews and being a noob in this matter, I decided to get the Tyan Thunder K8W. My questions came when I read the specs for this motherboard which mentiones something about a SSI power supply, so I went to thermaltake and took a look at their power supplies and was wondering if the w0014 Silent PurePower 480w will work with this motherboard

and also considering that I have a ATI 9700 PRO which also needs power.

Will this motherboard fit into a Thermatake Xasser 3 V2000A case? I hope you can help me with my questions because I wouldn't want to have any problems when assembling the computer. Thanks

Clearly, you didn't read the link on SSI that Tyan has on their page(and admit that it was partially new to me, knew the EPS12V dconnector, but not the other two).

I would get the PC Power and COoling 510 AG
http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/power_supplies/maxperformance/turbocools/index_hp_atx-2.htm

This is the proper pwoersupply for that motherboard, both by their PSU selector, and just by looking at the availble connectors.

Not cheap, but neither is anything else your'e buying.

Just went to Thermaltakes site, and notice they do have adapters, least for 2 of the three connectors(think third one might be on there already). So that power supply would work with the adapters, but I'd still go with PCP&C for a system like that. If you're spendcing that much already, utter foolishness to cut corners on the PSU. Hell, it's always foolish to cut corners on your PSU selection.
