Asus P4P800-V Deluxe...
South Bridge:
2 x UltraDMA 100/66
SIS 180 RAID Controller:
1 x UltraDMA 133 supports two hard drives
2 x Serial ATA
RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1

I want to run CD-RW;DVD;2 internal hd's and 2 Hd's externally with Kingwin mobile trays.

Can I do it without running Raid ?

Thanks :)

Yes, you can. Think of it like this, every ide controller can handle 2 units-hard drives, cd(rw),dvd(rw)... You have six devices and three controllers-perfect. That said, why don't you want to use raid 0. Is it lack of experience with raid or what? Using a good raid 0 setup can improve performance about 30% or so. You don’t lose any hard drive space. Write back why you don't want raid and lets see how good we can have your rig running.

"First and foremost, however, RAID helps to deplete your funds, because the more complex and powerful you want the solution to be, the more you'll need to invest."

Hehe, the only purpose of the exterior mobile trays to to simpifly the sharing of the 220 gigs of music I have stolen, I'm a friggn' modern day Robin Hood.

Thanks, MeCasa
