Hi

Have an ABIT NF7 Mobo with 1GB DDR400 Ram and Thermaltake Volcano 9 using Artic Silver.

I am sure the Mobo supports it and also the fan is rated up to 3400xp depending on which website you look at.A fan did come with the chip'but i just used my existing Volcano 9.

Yesterday i changed from a 2500xp up to a 3200xp.I also changed my PSU from 350W to 550W..

Anyway things looked great and i am using 11x2 as my multipliers giving me 2.2Ghz.

I use Speedfan to monitor my Temps and it's actually cooler than my old CPU???

However i play Lock On Modern Air Combat.
As soon as a am 20 seconds into the game'my PC shuts straight down with alarm sounds associated with hot temps.

So i am asking?

1) Is The NF7 Rated for that CHIP
2) Is the Volcano 9 Rated for that chip
3) Why is Speedfan showing me my best ever Temps'but shutting down during a game'while my Old Hotter Chip did'nt?
4 HELP !!!!!!!!

no problem, some SMBUS chips are often putting out "bad"reads. Check your current temperature and try adding ten 10c, if that does not exceed 70c you should be allright, just a safe-side-issue

Hey guys im having the same problem i have a Thermaltake Volcano 9 with the display for temps in the front. I havent had this problem all the time, but recently when i play games (and its ONLY when i play games) my pc makes a sound notification and then just shuts down. My temps are very good, im idle at 33 degres celsius and highest temp recorded when im playing games is 40 degres celsius. I have a Gigabyte mobo with a AMD 2600+ XP cpu. But when im reading that more ppl have the same problem and also with the same tower i wonder if it might be the tower that is the reason for this. I have a temp display with 4 speed regulators for the fans, the display have stopped working but i havent disconnected the temp sensor connected to the cpu. is there any possibilities that the temp sensor is messing up the temps and cause my pc to reboot? Do you with the same tower also have this sensor connected to the cpu?
