Quality of Abit NF7-S V.2 onboard sound?

I've just ordered a mess of new components for a system rebuild, among them an Abit NF7-S Version 2 mobo. I didn't order a separate sound card, since the NF7-S has onboard sound, but I'm wondering... should I have?

I have only a three speaker (left, right, subwoofer) speaker system, and in my current 'puter I have a Soundblaster Live! Gamer 5.1 that's getting a bit long in the tooth, but has been sufficient for my gaming purposes so far.

Will the onboard sound of the NF7-S serve my purposes? Is it worth considering a future upgrade?

I welcome any thoughts! TIA.

You just wasted your money. The Soundstorm will be a little better that the card you bought!

I didn't waste my money on the soundcard. I've had it for a couple of years, on my old system. So I'll just use it for my secondary computer.

Thanks for the tips all.

about the only reason for soundcard in an nf7-s is for the gameport. The nf7 series doesn't have one.
