The GT240 is, sorry to say this, a crap card for gaming. I'd recommend at least a GTX260 to get decent frame rates. What's your resolution?

Simply put, you don't have a powerful enough system, especially graphics card, to play Crysis at a decent quality setting.

If you are willing to play it at lowest detail, it may run a bit better at such a low resolution. But your GPU is simply not powerful enough for a game like Crysis.

Try to play with all settings on medium with no AA. I had a 8800gts320 (with 3Ghz core 2 Duo CPU and 2GB RAM) which is worse than your card and could play Crysis smoothly on medium settings. If you will still have problems it can be your CPU because Crysis do not use 4 cores and 2.5Ghz may not be enough so you will have to overclock your CPU.
