OK i have this motherboard in route from newegg and i also have two 160gb SATA drives comming for it.(planning on raid 0) I downloaded the Manual for some pre installation prep and ran across what looks like two options for installing the drives.

One is the southbridge chipset(sata1 sata2) and the other is the Promise controller(ser1 ser2)?

Is there an advantage in one or the other?

Also while i have your intellegence on hand the board has an audio optical output, can i directly plug it into my optical input on my home reciever to play my MP3s etc..

Sorry if any of this is common knowledge or if there is a FAQ or if I spelled anything wrong or used improper grammmer!

Thanks.

Usually the Southbridge does SATA and the Promise does the IDE Raid on the MSI boards. I like the Promise, but, pick your poison!
