This was working fine before i did a hard drive shuffle with my other
machines and reloaded WinXP Pro SP-2 on all of them.
Now the NIC seems to just disconnect itself and I see the red "X" on its
icon in the taskbar. The other three machines with the same NIC/OS do not do
this, just this one. I am not using ZWC. It is disabled on all machines.
I am using Linksys Wireless Router Model: BEFW11S4 with the latest
firmware. This machine is about 5 feet from the AP with excellent
strength/quality. Using WEP on all. This doesnt seem to happen at a set
interval but rather at random times it will disconnect itself. To correct it
temporarily, I click on the Linksys WLAN Monitor and manually reconnect the
adapter by selecting the "Site Survey" tab and then highlight my SSID. Then
I hit "Connect" and re-enter the 128bit WEP password and it reconnects fine
only to disconnect at some intermittent time thereafter.
Anyone ever see this before? If so would really appreciate some
recommendations..

Two common causes of wireless NIC's disconnecting themselves are:
- allowing Power Management to turn off the NIC (use Device Manager
to check properties of NIC card)
- enabling 802.1x authentication (use Network Connections to check
properties under the Authentication tab).
