I can't figure out what to do, I have a ticket out on evenbalance, but they haven't responded in a little over a week, they were trying things, but then just stopped responding. This is what I get when I test services, firewall is Vipre.

Checking PnkBstrA Version OK (1032)
Extracting "PnkBstrB.exe" to:
"C:\Users\Flying Sq\AppData\Roaming\PnkBstrB.exe"
OK
Checking firewall settings OFF
Checking if PnkBstrB is running STOPPED

Try going to the punkbuster website and running PBSETUP.EXE (or whatever they call it this week) and manually force a PB update.

Looks like the only problem is the PnkBstrK driver is not found...I don't even think you need that for BC2, truth be told...Are you getting any explicit errors?

Actually the 127.0.0.1.**** is a loop back address, meaning it's being blocked at the router, most likely the error is in the firewall settings on your router and you will need to log in to router, change DMZ setting to allow punkbuster to come through and go out or disable it completely, should go to portforward.com, find your router and find the game/app you need to pass firewall and step by step it will tell you what to do for your specific router. Should resolve a lot of issues with games, seen this before when working for large ISP as helpdesk specialist.

I tried their port settings and still no go. I have my PC DMZed already, should PB be allowed through already?

yes, if this is blocked no access to steam and therefore can't connect properly. If unsure just disable DMZ in the router and test if PB works. If it works at least you know what the issue is, if not then download new PB from steam and see if this works, but I do believe it's the router firewall, not the software firewall installed.

I have a retail disc, I didn't buy it from steam. Tried turning off DMZ, and continues to block me.

Have you tried a manual update from the PB website yet?

BFBC2 has been known to have PB problems but they seem to have cleared up. Another thing that helps is deleting old PB html files and redownloading them.
