I am considering a Athlon64 3500+ chip but I need help choosing a motherboard. Is the Asus A8V deluxe any good or am I better off with an MSI K8N Neo Platinum? I am an intel convert so I need some help.
I don't remember what msi's board name is for 939 but the k8n neo plat is a socket 754 board. I don't know buddy, 939 seems like a lot more money for not much more performance. Have you considered a 3200+ for 754? That and the msi board you mentioned would be almost $300 cheaper than a64 3500+ 939 and one of the few mobos out for it at this point. Plus it is a tried and tested platform with nvidia chipset.

Go for A64 3200+ (2.2 GHz, 512k L2 cache) and MSI K8N Neo Platinum. You'll have practically equal performance for much less money. And you're getting a better mobo
I go for socket 939 too .
Got my mind on Asus but am not very sure yet .
Between Asus and the challengers MSI&Abit , what would be best and why ?

Still waiting on my X800XT PE, if I can find one.
I found the ASUS board to be marvelous. Easiest bios setup I've ever seen, upgradable even witout a OS on board, rock solid, supports a ton of system tweaking and monitoring and I got it cheap on Ebay. Can't ask anymore than that.
