Woohoo!

Jaakoo, I've pegged one back! :-)

I was tinkering around doing a few boss runs, trying to get a few bits and
pieces for my characters, such as a HOZ, and Gore Riders, and maybe lining up
a Skullders that I could trade to misfit for a perfect gems.

Well, after a little over an hour or running (I usually never do much more
than that, since I'm more of a "play through and clear the areas" kind of
guy), I wasn't able to find any of these items, but Mephisto was kind enough
to disgorge a shiny new Stone of Jordan. :-)

PS: Sorry for the accidental misspelling of your name.

PPS: Have you considered changing your name to Jaakoo, regardless? It
sounds pretty cool. Not as cool sounding as "scutum", but calling yourself
scutum might lead to a few funny looks.

Oh, yeah...

It was pretty pleasing, and it's only the second one I've ever seen drop in
the time I've played (both from Mephisto interestingly, even though I run
Andariel a lot, too). Now, if I could only get one to drop from a chest or a
barrel...

If you're keen (and I saw you talking about this in a chat log in AGD/AGD
yesterday, but I was parking a mule and didn't see it until later), Whitedog
and I have doing a few team Hell Mephisto runs the last couple of days, to try
to get a few more of those TC78 and lower elites. Whitey has been playing his
sorceress (now in tals), and I've been bringing in the barby to BO and Shout
him at the waypoint, he teles down all buffed up (fast now, with his new
connection), and then I rejoin him to help his mercenary tank Meph while his
sorceress makes the killing shot.

And I'm getting to the point now where my own sorceress can do the Hell
porting run reasonably reliably without BO, since there's no one around to
provide it (ha, I just jixed myself), although still a little slow because my
ping is a bit poor at the moment, so when Whitey is not around, you could
bring in your necro to off Meph after I port down with my sorceress, like you
and Abe were doing the other day.

I'd love to. This worked VERY well, as even with just my 4 topaz armor, I
can pump up well past 400%MF, and even with squat for resists, the necro is
more or less unkillable down there, given the army and all. We can really
milk him nicely that way. Just give me a holler when you're ready, and I
will change up.

The best finder of SOJs I ever met was Frank. In CD2, he seemed to have
an uncanny knack for gambling them, in LoD he was just as prolific in
finding them, especially in the Moo Moo Farm.

We did a nice batch of team meph runs yesterday, too. Mickey was after an SOJ
(or preferably a BK ring for the life bonus as well as the +1 skills) for his
necro, I was after all manner of things for my crew, and Whitedog just showed
up for the ride, I think. We did about 45 runs (Mickey had to go after 40),
and got two griswold armours, IK maul, blackoak shield, dark adherent (boo),
mosers shield, the ward, viscerataunt (it was shield day), and all manner of
other greens and golds (or what I call "filler items" ). We got a gold ring
to drop, but it was a manald. We should do this more often. I usually get
bored after around 20-30 runs if I'm on my own, but with other people there to
chat with and such, I think I could have quite happily done 75-100 of them
(assuming my connection held - it was starting to get quite dicey near the
end)

And we would have, had it not been for the fact that when you first messaged
me, I was in the midst of the Baal run to end all Baal runs. In 45 minutes,
I got 2/3 of a level, which at 91 is no small feat. Then we had a game drop,
and I was in the penalty box, so I went to idle in the trading channel,
which is where I saw the guy advertising the 3 key sets for the perfect
Raven. That lead to getting all the parts and then the 45 minute battle
against the Three Stooges. Next time, we will do 100 or so and see what
pukes forth. BTW, the BK would be welcome, but what I really want is a
Mara's. Were I not so impatient with trading, I'd hock that +1 Pally Combat
skills 20 life GC for one.
