HELP finding a new MB

Hey everyone, my first time here really.

I have a pretty old system, and wanted to replace my old MB. Here is my machine at the moment:

P4 1.8Gb
40 Gb Maxtor 7200 RPM
80 SATA Maxtor 5400 RPM (I believe)
1 GB Corsair PC3200
Gainward FX 5600 256 MB DDR

I was looking for a good MB, since mine is pretty crappy at the moment. I use my machine mainly for gaming, searching the web and blowing my money on ebay ^^.

I was looking at the ABIT IC7-G MAXII ADVANCE i875P right now, since its price tag isn't too extreme at newegg ($132).

I need some advice on what to get. Something in the $150 or less range. The cheaper the better (I only make $6 an hour).

<b>EDIT</b> - Oh yea, I would like gigabit lan too. So if the MB has built in gigabit lan (that is stable and works well) it would definately be a plus. Which is why I was looking at the ABIT "IC7-G MAXII ADVANCE" i875P. Thanks

Read my sig, buy it! Some of the IS7 boards inadvertantly came with 3Com GLan. Mine was one of them. Want to be sure, get the IS7-G. There are a lot more issues with the 875P boards than the 865PE boards. I have to recommend the IS7. Great board! :smile:

I'd go with the IS7-G

Actually it has the NEWER chipset, 865PE is based on the 875P, they perform about the same. 865PE uses the 875P northbridge core on a different pin grid, the pins needed to use ECC memory have been removed. That's Intel's way of making the 875P a workstation class chipset and the 865PE a desktop class chipset even though they use the same core. And that's how they justify a price difference, even though they cost the same price to produce.
