i know there is an asus a8v, gigabyte 939 board but what other boards do i have to choose from?im upgrading now next couple weeks what board do you think is the best for me and why?i would like to overclock but with an fx 53 i dont really have to.i know the gigabyte has a workign lock and the asus doesnt so i really wont be able to over clock it i heard the nvidia chipset is better than via crashman says having a via chipset is 1000 times worse than nvidia so is there anything you guys can add to help me decide?oh and i heard msi and abit had boards out but they were buggy.one last thing too i have a thermalright heatsink big copper heatsink with tornado fan will i be ble to use them on the athlon fx 53?anyone know what the best heatsink fan combo is for that chipset mobo?

I went with the following less than 2 weeks ago:

AMD Athallon 64Fx-53
Asus A8V Deluxe VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset ATX AMD MB
1 Gig of OCZ 3500 unbuffered Ram
2 Western Digital 74 Gig Raptors in Raid 0
DVD ASUS 16X DVD
DVD+/-RW PLEXTOR|PX-712A
CPU FAN SPIRE|SP703C3-1 KK3 AMD
Cooler Master Wave Master Case with 480 watt power supply.
M-Audio Revolution sound card

No I'm NOT an over-clocker but I know I can do this on the ASUS board right from the bios. It's been stable, cool and not a single hiccup with anything. Hope this helps.

The Spire HeatSink is listed on the AMD website under recommended parts and accessories. That's where I first heard of it. A tad loud under extreme load but I like it.

Recently I went with the Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939, I put the FX53 on it with a gig of Mushkin 2-3-2. I talked to friends at Gigabyte in Jacksonville - suggested either Seagate or Western Digi Hard Drive. Mushkin recommended 2-3-2 memory over 2-2-2. Haven't really crunched it yet, waiting for adequate Video Card, for now R9700 Pro is hanging on. I recommend this board.
