Serious Gaming Issues

Hello, for the past few months, I've noticed something unsettling. My laptop computer's gaming potential is being extremely limited. Honestly, I started noticing this after installing Windows 7. My computer specifications are:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M
Hard Drive: 320 GB
Windows 7 Home Premium
4095 RAM

Games such as Torchlight; which is a very much less intensive game; playable on netbooks actually. It seems to lag a lot and all of my other games as well. The only perfectly working games I have at the moment is probably LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Warcraft 3.

You need to give a bit more info. What kind of diagnostics have you run?
Memtest, hdd defrag, check your temps on both cpu and gfx card, dxdiag, have you run a virus scan, spyware scan, have you tried system restore, did you make a back up of your system, have you updated your drivers recently, especially gfx drivers.. Have you tried re-installing the games, are they fully patched, etc etc.
Im running win7 64 bit and have 0 issues, and its a lot faster than smelly old vista.
