Update SP2 for XP

Had a go last night with the SP2 but wouldn't fully install - seemed to go thru the installation step but stall during the verification step - giving error code 8007002. This code refers to the windows automatic update folder but even by resetting this didn't cure the problem.

Are you trying to do the update from windows update?
Try downloading sp2 then installing it.
