K8N Neo Platinum MSI MS-7030

I just bought a K8N Neo Platinum MSI MS-7030 and a AMD Athlon 64 2800+, I currently have a 1.1 GHz AMD. My question is: after I install the new motherboad will I have to reinstall XP Pro or will it continue to run. I plan to reformat later but just to check it out should I expect the system to run as is ?

Your system should post, and you can select your bios settings for memory, cpu, etc. Once windows tries to load, your system will lock up or show a blue screen error. You'll need to format and reinstall xp. With a new motherboard and different chipset, this is normal.
