Steam bioshock sound playing all at once

i was having trouble with bioshock not responding on start up but i switched compadability to xp and it works fine. my problem now is when i start the game all the sound clips are in the wrong places.
when i start im hearing clips the should be played in the middle of the game. and when i select the audio logs nothing plays.
do anyone know how to fix this???? plz help!

Odd, sounds like a buggy install?

Do you have a soundcard?

Also, post all your system specs.
