Hi,

I am thinking of building a laptop for home use.

Could someone tell me which motherboard and processor pair to choose? For example, AMD64 or Pentium M.

Is there any really difference between AMD and Intel's processors? Ones I am looking around is 3000+ and Pentium M 1.7 Ghz.

Thank You.

You can't build a laptop, they don't use "standard parts". Each laptop manufacturer has their own standards.

There are several places you can get sort of a "custom" laptop built for you, but there is no real reason to do this.

You can get a AMD 64-bit based laptop for just over $900 from somebody like Compaq, this is probably your best bet.
