Ok I'm building my first PC and I've decided upon a ABIT "KV7" KT600 Chipset motherboard since it seems to be a cheap and popular choice, under the specs for the board it says:
IDE: 2x ATA 133 up to 4 Devices
now the hard drive I want is the Western Digital Special Edition 80GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive and under it's specs it says:
Interface: IDE ULTRA ATA100
Now forgive me if this is a dumb question but since the motherboard is an ATA 133 and the hard drive is an ATA 100 will they be compatable? Any help would be appreciated =)
I'd take the Abit NF7 over the KV7 any day, since it has a far better chipset and is also fairly inexpensive. But yes, all the drive speeds are compatable with each other.
