Farcry 2 and Bfbc2 stuttering

I have an i5 750, a 5850, 4 gigs of ddr3, and a 1tb spinpoint f3.
I defrag my hard drive regularly. My problem is that when I am in a vehicle going fast the game stutters. It is very noticeable and annoying to the point where I can't bring myself to finish either game. I read something about having to cap the fps in farcry 2 to 50fps. Any suggestions?

Are your display drivers up to date? ATI has released the Catalyst 10.4, wherein they've specifically mentioned fixing a BFBC2 bug. Go to the AMD site & download the latest drivers as per your OS.

Well you cannot "cap" any frame rate. Only if you turn on VSYnc, the frame rate gets limited to 60 (which is usually the refresh rate of the monitor). This is assuming your gfx card can pump out more than 60 frames.
Sorry but all I can say at this point is try farcry2 with the updated drivers.
A point to be noted, install the new drivers only after completely removing the older ones.
