Just got an i7 laptop. I usually play online games where I leave it running while I go out doing something else.

The question is, will that affect the processor and fan's age, or maybe even the machine itself?
I have a processor widget and I know leave it running with games consumes the processor and fan all the time.

I love i7 performance in gaming but by common sense, I wouldn't leave it on 24/7 if it affects the machine's age, maybe only once a while.

It doesn't affect any of the system components. The only thing of concern would be the battery; leaving the laptop plugged in even after the charging is full, might affect the battery in the long run.
