Sorry for the newbie style question. I just can't seem to find anywhere where it says so or not.

My bro ordered a 939 mainboard and a 3500 939 CPU. now the dealer is out of stock on the CPU but they recken they have another cpu which will work. Could it b a 754 or a more expencive 939. if 754 will work we'll probably get the 3400+.

Additional.
If the 745's don't work. is it worth waiting for the 3500 to come into stock, or getting a 754 board and the 3400. Then taking the hit at next upgade to go for 939 mainbaord + CPU.

cheers.
PM.

754 won't fit in a 939 mobo.

If the dealer will give you the next chip up at the same price then go for that  .

a 754 board would be cheaper, and I doubt you'd notice much performance difference. Personally, I'd stick with 939 and either buy a different chip or wait for their re-stock, but it depends how long you can wait I guess.

I'm hoping he'll give us a better chip free as well, but I've got my doubts as the next chip is 200bar more.

got a big gaming weekend this bank hols so wanted everything ready you know. Everyone seems to be out of stock on these cpu's too. Damn AMD and there price drop.
