I just purchased a backup laptop and it has Windows 7 installed. Everything seems fine accept the pointer selects everything it passes by and it's driving me nuts. I've searched throughout the Control Panel options and find nothing besides the typical pointer sub-directory allowing pointer changes, mouse customizations.... Is there a means to make it less sensitive??

Go to device manager (windows key+ Pause break). Click mice and pointing devices. Highlight ps2 touchpad (or somthing similar). Right click and choose Uninstall. Then restart your laptop and windows will say found new hardware and reinstall the drivers for it. You restart without using a mouse by pressing the windows key, then the right arrow twice, then the up arrow until it highlights restart, then press enter
