That's what gets me. I've got a GeForce 4 Ti4600 (128MB RAM) running NVIDIA
Display Driver for Windows 2000/XP version 66.32, 09/04/2004. That should be
sufficient, right?
Here's a dump of dxdiag:

Yes - DirectX 9.0C. The funny thing is, Doom3 install complained that I didn't
have DX 9.0b, so I went ahead and said install it anyway, after which it did
nothing.

You may now have a mixture of DX9.0b and 9.0c files on your PC. Try
re-installing 9.0c Shaun.

I'd say reinstall the Forceware drivers and reinstall DirectX 9.0c. Are
the 66.32 drivers beta? I'd go ask these questions in
news:alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia or maybe try the forum at
www.nVnews.net.
Do you have any other openGL games that work?
Just to let you know, even if you get everything working, Doom 3 ain't
going to run too great on that set up.

I don't think so, because the first time it asked me if I wanted to install 9.0c
I said no. But I still ended up with the problem of not being able to run. The
second time I figured WTF, and said yes, with the same result.
In any case I can still run IL2 Sturmovik and BF1942 just fine. I'll just bail
on Doom3 for now.

I had something similar happen. Went to nvidia's site, downloaded and
installed the latest video card drivers and all went hunky dory. try that

PS
Don't let windows search for an update for you. Download it from nvidia's
site. That's what caused my problem in the first place. Don't know why but
it did.
