Hello everyone. I need some advice from some of you seasoned tweak freaks. I am not really new to PC's, however I am new to putting a system together. At least in the since of which component(BRAND TYPE eg.)is best suited for my purposes. I ran across a barebones system that sounds almost to good to be true. The motherboard is by Foxconn. P4 655A01-FX-6LRS 800/533MHz FSB w/Dual Channel DDR 400, 8X AGP, 5.1CH AUDIO, Serial ATA RAID & On-Board LAN
The processor comes with it, this confuses me more than anything else. ITs a new P4 3.0GHz 9800MHz FSB0 Socket 478 w/Hyper Threading Technology. It also includes 512 MB PC2700 DDR 333 Memory and a 400W Dual Fan Power Supply. This is all put together is a nice Aluminum Case that has plenty of space for whatever you may want to add later. I have Everything else like Hard Drives, DVD Burners, CD Roms, Floppys and on and on.My two questions are-Is this system a good combo and or does it contain Harware that has been shown to have major problems? Is this a system that is fairly good as upgrading is concerned? Any other suggestions about Overclock-ability or whatever would be welcome. This just sounds so cheap, even with shipping I could have this for about $380.00 All I would need would be a Video card. Complete system for Less that $500.00.

I wouldn't hamper an 800 bus P4 with DDR333 RAM.

It's a decent board but standard performance requires DDR400 (not DDR333) with the 800 bus P4. Anything less is sub-standard.

I'd probably build something.
